FERAL connects survivors of abuse with resources and opportunities to heal through the interconnectedness of mind, body, nature, and creative expression.

Core Ethos:

Feral (n.)
\ˈfer-əl\

Origin: From Latin ferus, meaning “wild beast.”

Definition:
A wild beast; untamed, primal, or instinctive in nature.

A feral creature is one who was once wild, then domesticated, and who has returned to their natural, untamed state. At FERAL, we see this return not as a loss of civility, but as a reclamation of instinct, intuition, and wholeness.

It is an act of self-respect and courage to challenge cultural norms that demand silence, compliance, and disconnection from nature and self. We root our work in authenticity, creative expression, community, and reverence for the natural world. We do this not only for our own liberation and connection in this life, but also to honor those who fought before us and to light the way for the young people who look to us for guidance and hope.

Here, there is room for the full spectrum of emotions and instincts too often silenced or shamed. We create spaces to transform pain and reawaken our true nature—the part of us that knows how to create, play, grieve, rage, and fiercely self-protect.

Healing, in this sense, is a return to wildness - an unapologetic act of self-reclamation.
